RECOVERY CHURCH

Just an incredible day of riding the highways of the lower mainland winding around the majestic Rockies. As we headed back from our weekend of fasting and prayer with Prayer Canada to Abbotsford  found a chance to stop at a cold stone ice cream shop and we enjoyed our usual coffee lovers delight and an icecap. 

    Laurie and Ross we will be forever grateful for you introducing us to this incredible delicacy. Then off to Langley for the evening service at the Recovery church and as we expected we were so blessed and the ranch was so accepted, we will be hearing from them as the network to be a part of God's plan in rebuilding lives of our youth right here at home continues to grow.  

     On our ride back to Abbotsford we pulled into Redrobbins for a tea and a snack and at the door a guy commented on our leathers and he so happens to have gone to school at IBC in Moose Jaw and know Rance, Ruth and thier family well. Also went to school with Jamie, wow go figure!!!!.  So exciting to be apart of a new generation of missionaries to the battered men and women here in Canada.

-Read a sign that said religion is for those that are afraid of hell. 

-Jesus is for those that have been there.

Prayer Canada

Just an incredible time of fasting and prayer here amongst the great Rockies outside of Hope BC with our friends from Prayer Canada. 

     Our facility is a beautiful retreat Center that feels like paradise. To have such an opportunity to pray with veterans in the faith from across Canada,  is nothing less than an experience of a life time for Diane and I.

The Word Is Getting Out

We spent the last few days meeting with a lot of incredible folks that are so committed to improving the lives of those who need to find and develop their God given potential and purpose. Also met with Russ and Sandy from upstream and had a great visit with them as we shared notes and stories of lives being changed and the hope that lies ahead for the youth of our country. Over and over we hear that everyone has heard the Gospel in Canada what more can be done. But the changes only begin when they see the word of God lived out in lives around them.  The Cyrus Center a 24-7 youth Center in the heart of Abbotsford does south and had been used of God to impact many lives but there had to be more. After our presentation young Dan came up and sat with me quiet at first but soon the question came how could it ever be possible for me to ever come to a place like the ranch?  And Sara who is willing to come to the ranch and volonteer and help with our horse program. Also what a blessing to get the opportunity to talk to the great team at Focus on the family, to thank them for the many years of helping Diane and I raise our family into strong and committed followers of Jesus Christ.

     Tomorrow off to the Prayer Canada conference in Hope and then we were hoping to move on to Kalowna, but have been invited to a provincial board meeting of an important youth ministry in Abbotsford Monday morning and then to visit a youth ranch Monday afternoon.

Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge God's hope for hundreds of men and women struck down by drugs and alcohol. 

   Today we got a call from a young man that will graduate this fall from his one year at TC. He is sincere about getting into a trade and to build a life around all he has learned as a child of God's at TC. 

     His worst fear is to ever end up again back on the streets of hopelessness. If you or anyone you know would be interested in sponsoring this young man please give us a call and we will let you know what is involved. Please pray and seek God'd direction for this your man. 

     4. Righteous Poor

28:6 Better a poor man whose walk is blameless than a rich man whose ways are perverse.

11:4 Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

It’s nice to be rich, but it’s nowhere near as valuable as being righteous. Why? Because money won’t save you on the last day.

There are people who, through absolutely no fault of their own, just can’t get work. Maybe they have a disability, or a disease, or a personality disorder, or maybe employers just aren’t hiring. They’re faithful, hard working Christians who just can’t afford to put food on the table.

Or it may be the people who lose their jobs, can’t get a job, or are overlooked for promotion because they refuse to make unethical decisions. They won’t lie and they suffer for it!

If this is describes you, then please remember, righteousness is far more valuable than richness! On any scale that actually matters, you’re richer than Bill Gates! Ruth and the widow who gave her last penny are good examples of the righteous poor.

     So What?

Are you rich or poor? I don’t think it really matters… At least nowhere near as much as your righteousness does! If you want my take on it, you’re probably rich. Most of us have bedrooms bigger than the average person’s house.

If you’re a Christian, God’s far more concerned withhow you earn and how you spend your money than he is with how much you have.

Destination

The ride begins as we are off on our speaking tour, team challenge, churches and many others are excited to hear and know about the miracle that God is pouring out at the Battle River Ranch Camp. 

     Joining a close group of friends we prayed shared communion and then they prayed a blessing over Diane and then they sent us out to seek and save the lost.For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 NIV)

     Right here at home all around us and across Canada men and women are looking for the hope that only Christ can give them. 

.1 Thess. 4:13-5:11

Paul to the leaders on readiness 

The return of Christ will be 

-Decisive

-Surprising

Two implications:

-Urgency

-Hope

Jesus is a righteous and just judge

We look to the world for justice and find none

We don't know when Christ will return but we do know that Jesus expects us to do all we able to do with the gifts he has blessed us with, weather large or small gifts, to improve and lead a lost world clear to him each and every day. 

     Invest in lives for Christ with a passion of urgency. 

     We all need the urgency of the Kingdom of Christ in our hearts to draw our family, neighbours, work place, community to the saving grace of Christ.

    The more of Gods pure undefiled love we live and share with world the less time we will need to spend discipling. 

     When we are on the wrong road to a destination and someone who truly cares redirects us in love we will reach our destination safely. 

     Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NIV)

      Got to pray with a fellow CMAer and lunch with Diane's cousin Shelly then off to meet with a couple Cel and Christina as they help with donations to the ranch. 

This is going to be a great trip please pray for God to continue to Oppenheimer doors.

City of Lloydminster show their support.

Today what a wonderful surprise with several truckloads from Lloydminster showed up with some incredibly nice kitchen equipment kitchen, equipment that was replaced from the Legacy Center now will be used for the Battle River Ranch Camp, Canada's first faith based life skills and trades opportunity Ranch. If you're someone that is always want to get into trade but have no idea what trade that might be this could be the place for you and you're welcome to come. The ranch facility is getting so close to completion of phase 1 and we hope to be  ready for September 3 as training to start on September 3 for a five month program. 

     For over 25 years God has put this on Diane and my hearts and to see it all coming together is just overwhelming and the support is incredible God loves his people and And gives us these opportunities to learn and become a productive part of our communities. 

     At last evening Bible study at the ranch we had so many people show up neighbors and friends it was just an incredible evening of sharing and reading and hearing from God one of those evenings it just kept go on and on until late in the evening. Please pray for Glenda as she needs opportunities and doors to open into to market the new product that she is invented and needs to get out in the market. 

     As I was cultivating the fire guard today I remember the days of my dad taught me to cultivate as a kid how to work the wheel brakes and how to watch for power poles and the depths to put the cultivator and to keep track of my temperature gauge and all the other guages . It seems that life is a lot like that we need to watch for the power poles were coming up, and how deep were our lives are going in the world heading into and watch the gauges in our lives God is so good he gives us the chance to lives  that are is so abundant with hope and and mercy and it just overflows in us and we just love to share that with those around us too, so if you ever have a chance come on out and stop for a visit for a Good meal lots of fellowship and to know what God is doing at the ranch.

DAY SPA AND RELAXATION TIME

Diane gets to go out and spend a great afternoon at her spa places so I thought it was only right that I should get some time so this morning I spent time at the spa also. Great part was it was a blessing and we sure are thankful and appreciate it so much. God is good all the time. 

     Evening bible study at the ranch was fantastic as usuall lots of prayer and sharing, and testimonies. 

     The boat and car arrived this evening so cool. 

     Please keep Diane in your prayers as she is battling a cold.
