How do you beat movie night always a great time with friends. Diane and I have heard a lot about the movie we bought a zoo and so off we went to check it out. A great movie about a father of a son and daughter and after loosing his wife to an illness seeks desperately to rebuild their lives. When asked on different occasions why he would buy a zoo his answer was WHY NOT.

How many times we have been challenged with a similar question . But like in the show when you love your family and you love God's people and God allows you to choose to follow Him in improving lives other than your own or your own interests, many will attempt to discourage and dishearten the vision of God.

MADD Dog Mike

MADD dog Mike cooked up our meals along with Al they blessed us abundantly.

Each and every one of these mighty men off God have their sights and focus on Jesus and Jesus alone.

Building the kingdom of God as their priority objective. Knowing and doing the will of God by Henry Blackaby was a book that they were studying. Seeing God at work daily in our workplace , our churches our communities and stepping up to the plate, getting involved in the work of God that is happening a around us. Not what's in it for us but what's in it for Christ and the kingdom of God.

Gaining strength and encouragement from this group of men that are so devoted and in love with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ sending me back to continue the work of God at the Battle River Ranch Camp PTL.

We do not loose heart

They don't know the real true God

One of the greatest conversations I had in a long time was with Sam. Sam left India many years ago as a non believer in Jesus Christ and today lives a life that is firm on the rock. Jesus has given him his life his marriage and his family PTL. Sam spends most of his life working and caring for his family and then off to India where he is building the Kingdom of God. As Sam shares of his love for his people back in India and their need to know the real true God.

How much do we love?

It has been said that we only love God as much as the ones we hate and persecute the most. Hmmm interesting

To help those who need the help is never easy and will always involve sacrifice. Heading out of the lumber yard the other day the guy at the gate asked if I could pull over to the side for a minute. When he was done with the next customer he came over to the truck and said that he had a step daughter that isn't sure about her future and that he would like info on the ranch, that he felt this was an opportunity that would help her move ahead. So as we always try we gave him all the info and off we went. The world around us is the world that Jesus came, suffered and died for. Please pray that the needed funds would arrive to complete and be ready to serve by September.

Lots of excitement out here at the ranch as roads, ditches, dugout and much more is being prepared and built. Nieghbours with the right equipment but most of all with the right heart are pouring into the ranch with their gifts so God can pour out.

Are YOU listening?

A friend (I'll call him Larry for the heck of it) once said he was listening and waiting on God, I admit there were times it seemed as though he had stepped a bit to far, but the more God developes and provides for the building of the Ranch it's the only way it works. We need to be obedient and wait on the Lord and boy oh boy does he provide.

All our trees that cluttered the ranch property has been cleaned up, with great pride and expertise as Larry spent several days cleaning and cutting to complete a great job, thanks to Larry and Jenn.

Today equipment arrived and roads are being built to navigate our way around this incredible place of hope. Land is being cleared and leveled for the RTM homes and parking area.

Tomorrow even more equipment a scraper and operator said they would come by tomorrow and help out and a packer is coming from Unity. Wow God has all the connections and equipment we need, Go figure!!!!!

Pastor Lyly has promised to send even more help and so the Glory of God is revealed,and His provision is abundant.

NEVER underestimate your nieghbours

What a day one blessing after another as the listeners are listening. There really is nothing more exciting than being a listening listener. Several Neighbours from differant directions stopped in at just the right time. Our payloader was broke down for the first time since we were blessed with this incredible blessing and broke down good.

But today two of our VOLONTEERS spent the day under that big old machine and fixed it all. No more leaks and rubs better than ever. By the way one of those VOLONTEERS was Keenan. Sometimes I just don't get it, Keenan heads into Tim Horton's a local coffee shop across the street and while waiting in the line up he stats up a conversation with someone and the person asks him what he's doing. Keenan replies that he is heading out to the ranch. Well this mature person goes on to say that he is wasting his time out at that place, what can you ever learn out there. Keenan later shared this with me and asked why would someone ever say something like that. I don't believe I was much better than Keenan at his age and still thankful for those that poured into my life. Today we have a great family and wonderful marriage, I hope, pray and believe that God will bless Keenan with the same some day. Please pray for Keenan as we know God has a special plan for this young man.

DRIFTING

Another great day out at the ranch more folks stopping in and Peter Miller came out to give us a hand with a few items that needed an engineers wisdom. Peter also picked up Keenan in his sports car and brought him out to the ranch.

As we get to walk along side a whole lot of young adults one word I hear every once in a while is the word drifting. It was easy to understand the word in the context they were using it as I as a young driver prided myself on my drifting talent on our perfect Saskatchewan winter roads.

Heading into a corner and with a bit of practice the rear end of a rear wheel drive 67 mustang and with the right amount of gas peddle, the rear end would slide off track to the side and go into a drift. The feeling of the drift under control was incredible and the more practice the more control the more excitement in the drift.

Now a drift gone bad is another story and the results can be most horrendous.

Now what about people a drift in a boat than falling asleep just as comfortable as can be. If we aren't careful it can happen.

This evening as Diane and I attend the truth project, the question is asked.

The Battle River Ranch Camp is a one of a kind entry level faith based, trades and life skills opportunity facility. Offering an option to anyone that has been searching for an opportunity and is serious about finding out their area of strength and work place career possibilities.

Out hope and prayer is to let as many of you know about the ranch as possible so that the hope it will bring, the lives it will change and the encouragement it will provide, can start as soon as possible.

The ranch will be a one of a kind facility and will offer an option to many like no other. When God has a plan and like our friends Mike and Pastor Lyle wisely told us just keep your focus and don't let the distractions pull you away from God's purpose.

The Battle River Ranch Camp is a non profit organization that is focused on developing trades, life skills and training opportunities for men and women that are searching and find it difficult to get the opportunities needed to develop a productive and positive life skill.
Many men and women today have no idea about their future or what they could be good at and to how find out their possible skill area or level. We are a faith based and mentor based training facility and our hope is with the help of anyone that has a heart for helping so many to give each person that comes to the ranch an opportunity to find the skills they were created for.
;Harold and Diane Stephan left a life filled with addictions and bad choices. Their journey has taken them through different twelve step programs and life recovery through a relationship and healing process with Jesus Christ. If it were not for caring people in their lives that never gave up on them or thought they were a hopeless cause they too would still be lost.
We would love to hear from you and if you feel this is a program and facility that would help you or someone that you know, or you would like to be more involved with a ministry like this or support it financially we would we would be very appreciative, and would love to talk to you and would very much appreciate your help in what ever way you can. This is a ministry for those that have a heart and desire to make a difference in the lives of others with the skills and gifts they have been blessed with and have a desire to pass on what they know to the next generation.
