What's that !!!

What's that, is a common statement said by most of us daily, everywhere.

Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?” (John 4:27 NIV)

I can see this scene today and as the disciples returned and found Jesus in a conversation with this Samaritan woman, an unheard of conversation and situation as society had it's order and this was out of order and inappropriate.
As Diane and I prepared to leave our beautiful new hotel room, that we found out was all paid for, I was carrying some of our belongings to our van and had the opportunity to say good morning to the house keeping staff. These are God's children that are placed on a order or status of little importance by society, rarely talked to. In our short conversation I sensed the hopelessness in her voice and had the opportunity to share that God had a purpose and a place for her. Diane and I shared the ranch info with her and her friend. Her spirit was lifted and God brought a glimmer of hope into this life
What's that!!!
Friday as we entered our hotel room and we used the wash room I could hear a sound that was not normal and smelled an odour (don't laugh). What's that I said to Diane, most people probably would not have noticed but After 37 years of being a plumber God has sharpened my senses to certain things and after a quick inspection I found a floor drain, dry and in need of water to form a seal from dangerous gasses and obnoxious sounds.
In life I hope when you say or think, What's That!!! you take time to hear what God is trying to tell you.

PIPE DREAMS

Pipe Dreams, hmmm;

- Google's definition of these two words together mean an unattainable or fanciful hope or scheme.

Synonyms for these two words are;

- Vision and Dream

     I find that far to many of us believe that most of our hopes and dreams are unattainable, when in reality with a bit of coaxing and the right encouragement,  dream attempts accelerate at an incredible rate.

 When people in general are encouraged rather than used, built up rather than criticized, the culture that is created is a culture of life and hope prosperity, communities built on this culture are rare and fortunatley we here in Lloydminster are heading in that direction.

Here in Lloydminster we know pipes and this may be
seen as a pipe dream but just wait and see.

Pipes can get plugged, damaged or wore out, but dream can only be given up on.

There's a lot of truth to the words of wisdom that feed a man and he is full for a day, but teach him to fish and he will eat for a life time. I believe that's how it goes.
If we don't get to wrapped up in our own agenda, the needs of others will always be a priority.  And when we live a life of passing on what we have learned and what we earned our lives will be full of all we ever hoped for.
A kid who a year ago was giving up till someone seen the potential in him. Now one of the hardest working young men in our community, not only at his job but also at making a differance in others lives. PASS IT ON

Pipe dreams may mean one thing to the world around us but here in Lloydminster it is an exciting statement of truth and potential. A friend this evening said that this community is a what a pipe dream is when people pray, believe and work hard.

What a way of life when you enjoy what you do for 8-10 hours a day. HOW CAN THAT BE.

To be there for others is the only way to build a culture of hope. Lloydminster, Saskatchewan - Alberta is building a community with a culture of hope. To survive life the main ingredient has to be hope. Pipe dreams,  you bet,  we know pipe dreams, we are built on big dreams, by men and women that know how to work hard, play hard, pray hard,  continuing to survive and thrive, and when the rest of the world seeks it,  we build and  share,  bless and pass on to the world with what we are so blessed with, and with what others need to move on.

Living Proof

Hi, My name is Sam
Ive just started a new stage of my life, and it all begins with these two beautiful people, Patti and Jeff Becker. They took me in off the street and gave me a home, a hope for a future, and a family. They're probably the most loving people I've ever met and I'd like to say Thank You so much for EVERYTHING!!!! I LoveYou guys and I miss you so much! Now back to my amazing experience, I came from being off the street and working in a bottle depot in Abbotsford B.C. Patti and Jeff then found out about the Battle River Ranch Program through the Cyrus Center in Abbotsford, and looked into it. They asked me, "would you like an opportunity to change EVERYTHING, in a Faith based Trades based Program?"  I said, "yes I would," so off I flew to Lloydminster Alberta.
                      That's where I met the Stephan's, Harold and Diane. they took me in as though I was one of their own, and right away got me working, driving machinery, roofing, drywalling, siding, welding, and a little electrical and plumbing. About a month or so into my Ranch experience, "Hope For More," happened and I got into doing a lot of work setting up and preparing for that to take place at the Ranch. Work like driving the suburban around hauling wood, driving quads, just really hard stuff : lol what I'm trying to say is my Ranch experience was not only life building, working building, family building, and making friends, it was FUN, I met a lot of great people and all in all I had a heck of time doing it, I want to thank Diane Stephan for EVERYTHING she does, and she does a lot :) love you, and Harold for being a role model I can look up to and for always being there for me. THANK YOU HAROLD AND DIANE FOR A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!!

Thats not where it stopped, NO SIR, after my program was done, I got an opportunity to work for Guardian Plumbing and Heating! They are a great bunch of Christian guys and girls that know how to have fun. They teach very well and how to do things right the first time and they know more than the average Plumber. The best thing about it is, they've become like family. I work hard and play hard, they not only teach about plumbing but they taught me how to snow board, and how to play frisby golf. Right now I'm living with a Guy thats works for Guardian, Jesse Moffat and he is an amazing role model as well as a great friend.
 I guess what I'm trying to say is, the Batlle River Ranch Program is an amazing life changing experience for everybody. You get great morals, work experience, and friends, and in the end

 I guess what I'm trying to say is, the Battle River Ranch Program is an amazing, life changing experience for everybody. You get great morals, work experience, and friends..

If you have any questions about the exerience you get from the Ranch, ask me, I'm living proof of what the ranch can do :)

         LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOO MUCH

                       -SAM-

AUCTION SALE

JUNE 1 / 2013                                                                                        JUNE 1 / 2013

     Wow our first annual ranch fundraiser auction and we are so looking forward to it. Our hope is of course to raise much needed funds to complete the first phase of the ranch project, but the heart of the ranch is to be an asset to our community. We have so much that has been donated to the ranch to be used as needed to move the ranch ahead that we thought this would be an exciting and fun day of auction, food and more food and some activities for the whole family.  Fresh baked pie and ice cream, water melons, pop corn and so much more, you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking at a career change give us a chance to explain just how we can assist you in the job of a life time.
