ON THE ROAD TO BLESS THE LORD

What an incredible weekend of traveling on the road again sharing the vision and everything is happening at the ranch with so many people.

On to Unity, Cut knife, North Battleford, just amazing as everywhere we go everybody's asking more more about how they can help make a difference at the ranch. God is so good as he opens doors, we get build hope into lives.
Now back home again and ready for another week of working at the ranch.
Don't forget to get your donations in because Blaine really needs to keep that Beard growning for another year so get online and follow along and look what's happening as we raise funds to finish the kitchen of the lodge.
Chuck did it and blessed his wife with 30 beautiful handmade napkin roses.

RECOGNITION by who?

Who would ever expect to get this type of parcel in the mail?  Diane and I were overwhelmed with emotions and I was sure they must have gotten the wrong person. And yet for us to prove that God is doing a good work out here at the ranch can be a challenge. Today a mind set of doing things a certain way or making sure personal comfort and security are attained first before actually doing what Jesus wants us to be doing. The Battle River Ranch Camp is all about living out the love of an all giving all sacrificing all gracefull all merciful incredible God.
How privileged to be used of God in a way that the Government of our great nation would recognize that only God can  bring fresh hope and change a society by using ordinary every day people.
Diane and I the staff and board of directors of the ranch have a heart to serve and deliver hope to men and women who often have lost hope. Every day more and more neighbours, organizations, churches and communities are getting involved by stopping in or calling or inviting us out to share with them the vision of the ranch and to see how they can help.
Our Thursday and Friday coffee and fresh cinnamon bun days done by Peg, have been a real blessing to travelers and friends.
Thank you one and all for your support, encouragement and prayers as we all join to complete the mission Jesus left to us. And thank you to Gerry Ritz and Tim Mc Millan for the ongoing encouragement and support, we pray God will continue to bless the work and efforts you both do to make this a strong nation. The nation that the world sees as a nation of hope.

2 Chr.7-14
"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, Then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."

GRANDPARENTS

Great to be with our newest grandson Cohen Xavier Stephan a strong 5lbs 5oz baby boy. Sara's is doing great and James has survived his first child birth. God has again blessed the Stephan family with another son to carry on the family name.
Grandpa was always special and my dad made sure we showed the respect our grandfather deserved. It was easy that way for him to teach us the many life lessons we needed to grow in to adult hood. I remember once way out at one of our fields in early fall repairing a grain bin so it could be filled with wheat from a nearby field. I was only about 8-10 years old and we loaded up the truck, complete with lunch kits and coffee, water and coolaid to head out but made the short trip to grandpa's home where he lived, picked him up and away we were off. I loved driving in the old truck with my dad and grandpa, the smells and sounds of the engine and shifting gears. It was a warm fall day and so dad had to reach under the dash to pull on a lever that would automatically open a scoop on the hood of the truck and a cool breeze blew on us all. Once we got to the place the grain bin was located we unloaded and dad poured a coffee for him and grandpa, and a cup of cool aid for me.  We were soon working on the grain bin repairing holes from old boards and mice. I was attempting to cut a board without much success when grandpa came over after seeing me struggle asked if he could show me an easy way to use the saw. He not only showed me but told me how the saw worked and if I did right it was easy to cut and straight. He explained that the saw was built in such a way that the teeth would cut and clean if we would just pull and direct.  Thay's as easy as it was, we didn't have to push harder force it just push back and forth easily and the saw would do it's job and as I watched tha's what it did. I got to spend a lot of time with my grandfather and learned so much.

STANDING IN THE GAP

Have you ever tried to gently place a cat into a container of warm water in an attempt to give it a much needed bath. Not sure exactly sure why I feel this way. I feel like I am that cat and God is working with me.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)
Today over 3/4's of the people that live in my community are seeking faith in anything and everything but the God who has so much love and cares for each one of his creation that he gave it all.
I hear my neighbours, friends and people of my community saying, why would I want to be part of a religion that has caused so many wars, pain and suffering. Why would I want to be part of a religion that is so full of hypocricy. Why would I want to be part of a religion that can't even get along with each other.
Well I believe I know why, and please let me know if I am wrong.
I don't do a great job,  like  "Gaundi said of living out what I profess to believe".
So I want to say as best as a Hippocrate can say it,
"I am sorry and please forgive me, that I ignore you;
-when I see you struggling
-when you need encouraging
-when you need to talk
-when you need someone to trust
-when I use God as an escape goat
- when I forget Jesus purpose is to seek and save the lost.
-when I get busy being comfortable
-when I get caught up in telling you how God has blessed me.
-when I say I am heading out to my support group and not invite you along.
-when I talk about the great life I have but not share how I got it
-when I spend so much time helping others around the world but no time to help a single mom down the street.
-when I share all kinds of words from the Bible but never live it out
-when I have gained status and recognition but my neighbours don't know Jesus.
-when I head out on safe comfortable mission trip far away and communities near me are desperate for the hope we profess to have.
-when I let fear stop me from doing what is right.
-when I am quick to judge a brother's faith
-when I believe my church is the only church going to heaven
-when I forget where I was and what I was.
-when the only time you recognize I may be a Christian is Sundays.
-when I have the best of the best and it is never enough
-when I give up on you unlike Big biker Doug who never gave up on me till the day he introduced me to Jesus.
-and by the way I don't belong to a religion but rather I am working daily on a relationship with Jesus.
-For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV)
-there is so much more, so please stand in the gap with me and add to this list.
" for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.". (Romans 3:23, 24 NIV)
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."(Ephesians 4:31, 32 NIV)

Our Father, Who art in heaven

Another great day at the ranch as we worked on a lot of different projects from fixing furnaces to working on putting flashings on RTM's. Busy sorting out and organizing furniture that's been donated checking all the antifreeze in vehicles and equipment. There is never an end of chores to be done at this place.
Also this evening the dining room was full of family and friends a wonderful meal prepared by the girls and fresh cinnamon buns what an evening and what a wonderful atmosphere God is so good.
Always new excitement happening out here at the ranch as I'm writing this blog it's already 10 o'clock in the evening and I get a text message from a family heading here from Regina and telling us they are at CutKnife and close to being here and excited God is so good.
I don't believe there's a better way to pass on our life experiences and life skills and the many journey's  throughout our lifetime that God has blessed us with then mentoring. These young people come here and when our hearts are right they learned so much and can move ahead with a confidence so full of hope. God is delighted when we seek first the kingdom of our father who art in heaven, Thank you all for all you do to help in building this place, a place of hope  and a lasting future.

AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US

The Lords prayer is such an incredibly powerful prayer and it came right from the mouth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This is a prayer that is known by most people who have ever been to church or have ever herd the Gospell. It is the most commonly recited prayer.

At my dad's funeral, years ago, one of his friends took me aside and asked me if I realized what the 3 basic principles were that our dad raised us by. To which I replied, I'm not sure what you mean. He proceeded to share with me those three principles and I probably recognized them once he told them to me. He told me that, number one, our dad believed that we should have one cooked and prepared meal a day, which was usually our lunch when we came home from school. He also believed that we should always have clean cloths to wear. And last but not least, he believed that each of his children should know the Lord's Prayer. Three very basic but very responsible foundational principles. Isn't that what Jesus came for? To feed us, clothe us and give us the word of God.

Every day, each day for many years Loretta Zaperozan, a neighbour from down the hill came to our house to do our loundry and cook a warm meal for us during the week. Each and every one of us knew the Lord's Prayer.

In the Lord's Prayer, the verse that says "as we forgive those who trestpass against us", is such a powerful statement and so esential in our lives as we seek to live out our lives every day.
Jayson one of our trainees who spent a year at teen challenge just prior  to coming to the ranch and is now learning at the ranch to use his gifts and life skills,  would love to go home this Christmas to be with family but has no money for a ticket. If any of you would have some extra airmiles to help out Jayson that would be such a blessing. Jason needs about 3000 air miles. We are so blessed and grateful to each of you who pour into the ranch as we continue to add hope and a future to so many.
