How Great Is Our God !!!!!!!

Day after day and miracle after miracle we are so amazed and grateful at how God works. As were doing our morning devotions we're praying for one of our trainees that his support would come in so that he could continue training here at the ranch. As we completed devotions and doing our closing prayer time for each other,  a bleep came on my phone and I peaked over with one eye andI could not believe my eyes. I noticed there was an anonymous donation had come in for Hayden and his tuition for the next month. What  an emotional time what an incredible God we serve, what an incredible Faith builder for our trainees as they move ahead in their lives coming from times of roughness and struggles but now see how God works for his children through the struggles, praise the Lord amen.

THE HEART OF MINISTRY

Harold asked me to write for the blog today…my first thought was “who would ever want to hear what I’ve got to say?” Well it’s time to suck up all my insecurities and let God, the potter, have His own way in me, this little piece of clay.  May someone be blessed by these few words.

I was raised in a strong Christian home and Dad and Mom took me and my other four siblings to church twice on Sundays, againTuesday nights for Bible study and prayer, and again on Friday nights for children’s/youth night.  Going to church was one thing, and listening to the most faithful people pray, while on our knees, for what seemed like hours, was another thing.  We never got to leave right after church was over either…we alwayshad to wait on my Dad to count the church offerings.

Dad’s talent with finances became his service to the Lord for 44 years and was an unpaid position. Doing the church books and finances wasn’t like it is in today’s world with computers. Everything was manually written down and calculated. Many times I was there to calculate, column after column of entries, for year end to help out.  I suppose this is where you’d say a seed was planted and my abilities were watered. Dad’s training sessions were sometimes way over my head…like a 747.However, my interest has continued to be peeked by the almighty dollar and find this crazy thing called bookkeeping, compelling.

Having worked in the ministry in my younger years, it became a real desire to do so again. God so faithfully opened the door again and I was blessed beyond measure with a position at Crossman Ministries Corp./Battle River Ranch Camp 3 years ago. You guessed it. I take care of the finances and books for the Ranch.

Even though I’m in heaven everyday with my job and I get to work alongside the most wonderful people, I have worries. I was reminded today if God takes care of the birds in the air, how much more He will take care of me, my ever-so amazing husband, my children, and my grandchildren.  He will take care of Harold and Diane and the Ranch. We need to stop and take a breath and encourage one another. Life still happens, to us and around us! Igets so busy that the days seem to fly by before you even know what day it is.

My Dad is now 82 years old and is completely dependent on others to care for him. Do you think he worries about tomorrow? As tears of gratefulness roll down my cheeks, I’m so humbled to be able to serve my heavenly father in this ministry and to serve my earthly father in his time of need.

May God bless you in your service to Him!

The heart of ministry starts as we following a vision and knowing that God will be there for us to get to the place where God brings hope into lives that seek to honour him and build the Kingdom of God. Matthew 6:33.
This ministry moves ahead because of the many gifted people that work hard and diligently to honor God of hope. By useing their gifts to create an atmosphere and the possibility of finding how God has created in each of us a gift or as some understand a talent that they can perfect and use to honour and bless God. To be able to build ones life and someday support a family.   Charlene has blessed God and this ministry with her focus on building the kingdom of God and seeing lives changed. The Battle River Ranch Camp is so blessed and thankful for Charlene.

HIGH WIRE FENCING

Great day at the ranch today as we all did a field trip out to a local farmer that gave us a quarter section of high page wire fencing for the ranch,  praise The Lord, that had been a long time prayer request.
As Jason and Haeden Jim, Rian, Joni and myself all worked together, Diane and some of the girls made us a wonderful lunch for our outing today,  so we had a lunch out on the field just like harvest time was just a great day and it was very productive, lots of hands on deck and the job got done,  Safe and sound and we're on our way home.
The great smells of fall are everywhere combines going all around us and grain trucks moving grain probably the best time of year in Saskatchewan watching everybody bring in the harvest.
Last time I had a meal out in the field was well over 40 years ago and aunt Elsie brought the best chicken and fresh salads ever.
We all got invited to a great birthday party tonight, food, fellowship, laughter, and even a bit of dancing.

Chuck Cleveland

Hey , this is Chuck Cleveland who is now here at the Battle River Ranch Camp. Let me tell you, It is amazing being out here. Let me give you a few reasons why it's amazing.

I having been doing retail most of my working life and I have hardly evet had had the opportunity to work with my hands on much of anything. I've done some small things like change an alternator and starter on my jeep. Dabbled with some electronics and barely handling any sort of proper construction. Of course when I was a kid I made forts with scrap wood, but never learned how to measure or hammer or even saw a price of wood properly. Therefore I wouldn't call it much of construction.

Two years ago I got a chance to visit my old mentor Harold and his wife Diane Stephan, who have been like a second father and mother to me. They shared with me a vision to teach trades to men and women in a Christian environment were they can develop God given talents that they might not know they had. They both encouraged me that I should consider getting into a trade.  Harold told me that men and women sometimes go to a trades school and learn only one trade so they can get a good paying job, but some don't find any joy in it and then they feel stuck and get into things that may not be edifying to their life's.  I have heard this from Harold but when I started to do some  research on the different trades a had the opportunity to meet a "steel" worker. And so I inquired of him.

"Me: I heard that Saist is now opening their electrician program so they can get more apprentice into the work force with less waiting time.

Steelworker: that is good and all, but the problem there is that they don't take the time properly to learn that trade and you get so many people who can't do that they start to teach or get into something else like partying and such.

Me: What if I told you that I can learn different trades and as soon as I know what I like and what I'm good at I can go through the program and get an apprenticeship after 5 months.

S.W: that would be a better way then you learn at a better pace and have a better chance of being a better apprentice and even better journeymen"

After this conversation my wife and I decided that this would be the best place for me to learn a trade. And now I've been here for 2 and a half weeks and I've learn some plumbing, Electrical and how to do proper carpentry. Infact I have even learn how to do tiling and been working on a bathroom in the Lodge. I even help aid in finishing up two rooms in the lodge and soon will be able to finish an entire room by myself if need since I'm getting the training of how to measure, how to cut wood and how to nail it in properly that it is helping me grow in my confidence. But one of my main confidence builders is how God is working in Harold and Diane's life and striving to poor into our lives and bringing us encouraging words. What helps get me through is when Harold told me once after working a few days with him at Guardian Plumbing. "Chuck, you'll make a really good tradesmen someday." And with that I'm striving to give my best that I can. Not only that I want to pour back into the ranch myself so that others in the near future will be able to experience what God is doing through this place.

This is why it's amazing cuz I'm getting to learn so much. And the community is willing to poor into us trainees and see us grow. Oh ya and my wife Beth is so proud of me.

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE RANCH

Our first ranch movie night at the ranch. Wow what a great turn out,  food was great and God sent friends, family and neighbours to enjoy a room packed with laughter. After the movie we were blessed with desert, apple crisp covered in a thick layer of whip cream, time of sharing and closing prayers.
As the Battle River Ranch Camp heads into it's new semester of training we are blessed with three great young and ambitious trainees. Excited about learning, and about trying many different trades as they seek to find what God has gifted them in.
Next weeks movie " The secrets of Jonathan Sperry" a great movie for the whole family.
