Sunday So Blessed and so thankful

What a blessed day today as we got to share with a great family and once again, God blessed the ranch abundantly in so many ways.

Ranch needs that we need your help with

Our greatest need right now is interior finishing which is done

completely in pine, on three floors top to bottom 14,000 sq. ft. at a price

of approx. $14,000.00

Our second greatest need is the new set of rafters for the lodge the new

set of roof rafters at a cost of $12,000.00

Our third need would be ranch utilities gas and electricity that is

approx. 1,200.00 per month

Our fourth need would be the provision of monthly diesel for truck and

equipment approx. $850.00 per month

Our fifth need would be food to feed the workers that volunteer and I

have always felt if we feed thier belly they will listen to what we have to

say. approx. $500.00 per month

Our sixth need would be basic daily needs such as nails, poly, tape,

switches, plugs saw blades, drill bits etc. approx. $400.00 per month

All of the above are items we desperately need as we move along in

God's grace and provision. Thank you so much Harold S, Director of The

Battle River Ranch camp

There was a day not so long ago two very good friends , Bob and Joe, who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 35 years of farming side-by-side in central Alberta, sharing machinery, and trading labour and goods as needed without a single problem occurring.

However, one autumn, the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence between the two close friends.

One morning there was a knock on Bob's door. He opened it to find a man holding a carpenter's toolbox. What can I help you with Bob asked? 'I'm looking for a few days work,' Angelis said. 'Looks like you might have a few small jobs around this place that I could help you with? Do you think that would be possible?'

Well as a matter of fact 'Yes,' answered Bob, extremely pleased to see Angelis the carpenter, 'I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm. That's my neighbour, in fact, he used to be my best friend, he's also a farmer. Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his bulldozer to the river and dug a ditch and now there is a creek between us. Well, he may have done this to get back at me, but I'll go him one better. See that pile of lumber by the barn? I want you to build me a fence; an 8-foot fence, so I won't need to see Joe's place or his face anymore.'

Angelis the carpenter said thoughtfully, 'I think I understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post hole digger and I'll be able to do a job that pleases you.'

But before Bob left for the nearby town, he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he jumped into his pickup and was off for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, digging, sawing, nailing, and hammering.

About sunset when Bob returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. The farmer's eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence there at all.

It was a bridge: a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other. A fine piece of work handrails and all, and the neighbour, his old friend Joe, was coming across, his hand outstretched. 'You still are my best friend, to build this bridge after all I've said and done, 'Joe smiled.

The two old friends stood at each end of the bridge, and then they met in the middle, and shook hands. They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his shoulder. 'No, wait. Stay a few days. We have a lot of other projects for you,' called Joe.

'I'd love to stay on,' Angelis murmured quietly, 'but, I have whole lot more bridges to build.'

Thank you once again for taking the time to view our blog. The Battle River Ranch Camp is a faith based non profit organization that is focused on developing trades, life skills and training opportunities for men and women that are searching and find it difficult to get the opportunities needed to develop a productive life skill. Many men and women today have no idea what they could be good at or how to find out their possible skill area or level. We are a faith based training center.

Harold and Diane Stephan left a life filled with addictions and bad choices. Their journey has taken them through different twelve step programs and life recovery through a relationship and healing process with Jesus Christ. If it were not for caring people in their lives that never gave up on them or thought they were a hopeless cause they too would still be lost.

We would love to hear from you and if you feel this is a program and facility that would help you or someone that you know, or you would like to be more involved with a ministry like this or support it financially we would love to talk to you and would very much appreciate your help in what ever way you can.

This is a ministry for those that have a heart and desire to make a difference in the lives of others with the skills and gifts they have been blessed with and have a desire to pass on what they know to the next generation.

You are always welcome to visit and we look forward to your input. This ministry is prayer based, and we pray daily for the needs of others, if you have a need for prayer and not sure where to start give us a call and we will confidentially support and help you in this area. You may not know a lot about God but God knows everything about you and He loves you more than anyone can or ever will.

Psalm 23 (King James Version)

Psalm 23

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
