What a great day again out at the ranch. Tim and I got the basement finished and cleaned up and ready for vapour barrier on Saturday. George a neighbour has the equipment to do the job and is willing to donate it and his time to get it done.PTL. Tim has been so much help and has such a positive attitude God has a way of putting the right people in place at the right time. Lives are a changin including ours thank to all for blessing the Lord.
There was a day not so long ago two very good friends , Bob and Joe, who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. It was the first serious rift in 35 years of farming side-by-side in central Alberta, sharing machinery, and trading labour and goods as needed without a single problem occurring. However, one autumn, the long collaboration fell apart. It began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference, and finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence between the two close friends.
One morning there was a knock on Bob's door. He opened it to find a man holding a carpenter's toolbox. What can I help you with Bob asked? 'I'm looking for a few days work,' Angelis said. 'Looks like you might have a few small jobs around this place that I could help you with? Do you think that would be possible?'
Well as a matter of fact 'Yes,' answered Bob, extremely pleased to see Angelis the carpenter, 'I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm. That's my neighbour, in fact, he used to be my best friend, he's also a farmer. Last week there was a meadow between us and he took his bulldozer to the river and dug a ditch and now there is a creek between us. Well, he may have done this to get back at me, but I'll go him one better. See that pile of lumber by the barn? I want you to build me a fence; an 8-foot fence, so I won't need to see Joe's place or his face anymore.'
Angelis the carpenter said thoughtfully, 'I think I understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post hole digger and I'll be able to do a job that pleases you.'
But before Bob left for the nearby town, he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he jumped into his pickup and was off for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, digging, sawing, nailing, and hammering.
About sunset when Bob returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. The farmer's eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence there at all.
It was a bridge: a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other. A fine piece of work handrails and all, and the neighbour, his old friend Joe, was coming across, his hand outstretched. 'You still are my best friend, to build this bridge after all I've said and done, 'Joe smiled.
The two old friends stood at each end of the bridge, and then they met in the middle, and shook hands. They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his shoulder. 'No, wait. Stay a few days. We have a lot of other projects for you,' called Joe.
'I'd love to stay on,' Angelis murmured quietly, 'but, I have whole lot more bridges to build.'
Psalm 23 (King James Version)
Psalm 23
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
