Helped Dawn and Larry load the truck for the ranch, had breakfast with Mike and then off to the ranch. Once I got to the ranch all was going well, Larry had everyone working away at the many jobs that needed to be done. We have been so blessed with the help of Larry and Peggy Huber, their commitment to God's work is phenomenal. Both work tirelessly and volunteer of their time completely. God knows the heart of us all and He has blessed us with friends and helpers that want nothing more than to honor God with all they can. They would be the first to admit they have limited talents and, we would be the first to admit they have unlimited hearts for our Lord's work. Both Larry and Peg work hard and never complain about anything or anyone. I have heard a hundred reasons why Larry and Peg should not be at the ranch helping. The ranch is such a large project with such a large purpose and need that only with the commitment of people like Larry and Peg will it all come to be what God has planned. We truly hope and pray that those that God has put it on the hearts of would stand by their friends Larry and Peg and that the support they need to work as missionaries, committed to God's work would become a reality.
We also very thankful to had Kieth and Tina helping today with feeding the hungry
gang. After leaving the ranch I was off to Dodsland, Sask. were Diane was helping our daughter and son inlaw with our grandchildren and then Sunday we have been asked to speak at the Kindersley Gospel Fellowship church and share the ranch vision with them. On the way to Dodsland I decided to drive down main street in Luseland. Well there happen to be an outdoor fundraiser happening on main street and the smell of burgers was in the air. I quickly pulled over and parked and no sooner was I off the bike and a friendly hello cane my way, and when I turned to see who it was it was our friend Tracy and her her kids. We had a great time talking about our kids and the ranch then off she was and Kurt Anderson stopped to say Hi. Kurt is the an active member of Luseland Bible camp and we discussed the many ways that we can partner to better open the doors and opportunities for the people that we will be be working with. After finishing my burger that was exceptional I was back on the road again heading for Kerrobert. I usually like to stop in Kerrobert to find a little something for our grandkids and met up with an old friend Harold and had a chance to share about the ranch with him and he assured me that they would be by to see us sometime and wished us well. By 2:30 I finally made it to our families home were I was greeted with hugs and kisses from my beautiful Diane and all the rest of our kids.
Didn't have a whole lot of time to settle in when Jacquie asked if I could look at her kitchen taps, now they were good Delta taps and Only about two years old but they were rotted out and beyond repair. Off to town for new taps and quick stop at Tim's then home again and in no time the job was done and the kitchen was back in working order.
We had a gentleman drive into the yard and after a few moments of talking I met Kieth Young a good friend of pastor Lyle and Laura's. Kieth was working a shift on the tractor for another friend of ours Greg and stopped in to say Hi. He mentioned that they had followed us on the blog and wanted to know more about the ranch and was very encouraging and he took the time to share about another ministry that we should talk to.
As we were standing in the yard the biggest green tractor and line of equipment pulled through the yard and stopped, it was Greg and he said jump in and so off I went for quite a ride. The days of running a 830 case pulling a 14 ft, disker, that we both started on when we were about 8-10 years old sure had changed. Once we got out to the new field and Greg hit the button I watched the equipment all unfold like one of those transformer toys and in no time at all we were heading down the field. Now the real trick was when Greg let go of the steering wheel and the tractor followed the furrow all by itself, go figure we wondered what it would be like when our grand kids are our age. Greg and Tammy have also been very interested in the ranch and he had a lot of questions and enjoyed hearing about the way God's hand was blessing the ranch development daily. Just like today I was telling Greg how as Mike and I were leaving Tim Hortons we ran into Joe Stang. Joe asked how all was going out at the ranch and he asked when we would be erecting the steel for the shop, I told him we hoped to be putting up the steel in about 2 - 3 weeks. That's when the miracle happened Joe said when we are ready he has a crane that we can use to raise the steel into place. How did he know that we have been praying for months that God would provide a crane to erect the steel P.T.L. He's done it again. Greg and Tammie were good frends and customers of ours when we had our buisness in Kindersley. They will be up to see us and the ranch development when the seeding is all done.
The day was a great adventure and I believe God has a truck load of adventure for each of us as we faithfully use the gifts he puts before us to build the kingdom of God. Where will you ride take you today and who will God put in your path to encourage and shine the light of Christ to. Remember we to be planting seeds of hope and light, not being soil inspectors and finding fault and being discouragers instead of encouragers.
Colossians 3:1-17 (New International Version)
Colossians 3
Rules for Holy Living
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4When Christ, who is your
life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
