Sunday can't beat that day

Snow falling outside our window, no wind, everything is white, feels like we could be getting ready to put on the skiis and snowboards and head over to the lifts to enjoy a day on the slopes. I remember Joey and I riding up the chair lift on Sunshine Mountain a few years back. We were on a chair with another guy and as we got talking we mentioned that we were from Kindersley. He said that he knew the Christians from Kindersley and I said that I knew them also. Meaning a family we knew there with the last name of Christians. As we continued up the lift in the peacefulness of riding up a tripple chair, Joey looked at me and said with a puzzled look on his face," dad we're Christians. " Well you've got to love the sincere and clear mind and heart of a child especially our Joey, if you have met our Joey you will never forget him. Yet today even though he's a strong young man, rides a big Harley Davidson and is married to a great girl, Melissa, she also rides her own Harley, when they're not driving around in that monster Dodge truck of theirs, well Joey will be glad to tell you about the reason he loves life and that's because he's not afraid to share with anyone that Jesus is Lord of his life and that's what makes it so full and exciting. A friend shared with Diane and I the other day that a lot of people think that being a Chrisian means: boring life, no fun, no excitement, no adventure, pretty much no nothing but going to church, praying, giving all your money and following a bunch of rules that keep you from ever having any fun at all. Well, if that's true and Christianity is really like that, Diane and I have gotten on the wrong road cause there is nothing on this road that looks boring in any stretch of the imagination. We ride our bikes because of the freedom on a machine as we blow down the highway, but we follow Jesus because of the freedom He gives us as we live for Him and honor Him with our lives, and not just live for ourselves. As a chaplain I have been taught that we need to be willing and available to share love and compassion to those in distress or hurting without an agenda. Just being there to help relieve the pressure because as plumbers we also know what too much pressure can do to a piece of equipment and to protect that piece of equipment we need to install a pressure relief valve on it or it would just blow apart. WOW do you ever feel that way, you may need a pressure relief valve or why not give Jesus a chance He'll be there to lift those burdens for you. He says in the Word, Matthew 11:30 "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

WHY YOU NEED JESUS
#1
Because you have a past
You can't go back, but He can. The Bible says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8) He can walk into those places of sin and failure, wipe the slate clean and give you a new beginning.
#2
Because you need a friend
Jesus knows the worst about you, yet he believes the best. Why? Because He sees you not as you are, but as you will be when He gets through with you. What a friend!
#3
Because He holds the future
Who else are you going to trust? In his hands you are safe and secure - today, tomorrow and for eternity. His word says, "For I know the plans I have for you ...plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray I will listen". (Jeremiah 29:11-13 TLB)

If you'd like to start over, with a new beginning with Jesus today, Diane, I, the board of directors, volunteers and supporters of Crossman Ministries and the Battle River Ranch Camp would ask you to please pray this prayer:

LORD JESUS CHRIST
I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask Your forgiveness and now turn from everything that I know is wrong. Thank You for dying on the cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thankyou Lord Jesus, Amen.

If you have made this commitment and would like to make contact, please call us. We'd love to talk to you and help in any way we can.

We are praying for all of you reading the blog every day.
