Mondays momentum

This morning we had a great meeting with a local businessman and again are very encouraged by the all willingness to support and help us move ahead on the Ranch project. His input and wisdom will make a lot of difference as we move ahead.
This afternoon we met with Pastor Ta from the First Baptist Church and he has given us his full endorsement and he encouraged us, as in his word we are in the front lines of something big and it will make a difference in our community. Paster Ta and others have said and Diane and I believe will make a difference in many comunities everywhere.
Also met with Joel French today and had an opportunity to share the ranch vision with him and a couple of friends of his. Then this evening I went to a men's Bible study with my sons and you just can't beat that.

Interesting....
A physics teacher in a high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, a billion of them would. And that's the differance we all can make to improve our communities as we work together .

A Good idea that we would like to share with you. . . one light bulb at a time . . . .

"Check this out. I can verify this because I was in Wal-mart the other day for some reason and just for the fun of it I was looking at the hose attachments . They were all made in China . The next day I was in Home Hardware and just for the fun of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in Canada. Start looking and you'll see it also."

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track . And it makes me look twice when I buy something

She said:

"My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more . My favorite toothpaste, Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest .. You have to read the labels on everything."

"This past weekend I was at Wal-mart. I needed 60W light bulbs. I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off brand labeled, "Everyday Value." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price. The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this -in Canada in a company in Ontario."

So throw out the myth that you can not find products you use every day that are made right here .

"My challenge to everyone is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in Canada - the little extra you might pay might be a job you save and may be a friend's or your own neighbour’s!"

"And please, tell this to others you know so we can all start buying Canadian, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!"

(We should have awakened to this a decade ago . . . . . . )

Let's get with the program . . . . help our fellow Canadians keep their jobs and create more jobs here in Canada.

If President Obama insists on a “Made in America” policy, which is commendable of him to support American workers, we should do likewise. BUY CANADIAN! Read the labels. Support Canadian jobs.

This is so interesting because we are at a all time high at importing and hiring workers from other countries when we have lots of workers right here in Canada, and even though many don't have the basic training that's needed it doesn't mean we can't do somthing about it. We have had the priviledge of helping a lot of people get into the work force and today many are very productive and successful part of our communities. The Battle River Ranch Camp will only be a start of what can and will happen if we work together and make this happen.

It seems a lot of friends, family and many that we have come to know over the years either working with, been in ministry with, or would stop in just for a visit and ask how we are doing, but it is a bit confusing and it's like many of you have fallen off the face of the earth. So many for so many years helped us by encouraging and being a part of this ministry and we don't hear from many you anymore. So please if you are still out there and ever in the area or passing through our wonderful city of Lloydminster Sask./Alberta please stop for a rest or a meal we really appreciate your friendship more than anything and we do miss you all. God bless and Give God a chance.
