Fridays Frenzy

David demonstrated an extraordinary faith as he went out to the battlefield and defeated the giant Goliath with a sling and small stones. (see I Samuel 17:17-51). He is paid the extraordinary compliment in Acts 13:22 where God says of David, "I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after mine own
heart.
" Yet, what painfully ordinary traits were exhibited as he committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in the heat of battle. Please take time to read II Samuel 11:1-17.

We could write further of 1) Esther, though afraid of death, appeared before the king to ask that Israel be spared (Esther 4:16). 2) Abraham, who left his homeland and later raised the knife to offer his son upon the altar, yet earlier lies about Sarah as he feared for his life (Hebrews 11:8, 17-19; Genesis 20:9-13). Or 3) Peter, who walked on water and was with the Lord at Gethesemane, yet later cursed and denied Christ (Matthew 14:27-31; 26:69-75). May we be encouraged to accept great challenges as ordinary people striving to do extraordinary things.

God has blessed Diane and I with the most incredible friends as well as our wonderful family and as we thank God each and every day for those blessings. Often it's hard to watch as many of our freinds have gone through such difficulties. As we spend time with people every day we see the spirit of insecurity that creeps into lives and the attempts that so many try to be accepted, and yet all they have to do is be still and know that God is all they need. Insecurity can cause many to lash out and find fault in almost every one accept them selves. Often they will even hide behind a ministry or God Himself in order to not have any one ever realize the extent of thier many hurts and failures. We have all travelled the road of insecurity but it's like a friend of mine once said many will never open up and be healed of those hurts, habits and hangups because of pride. I have found that those that will not support or seek the help of a program that helps us to walk our hidden problems out, and sometimes even ridicule those ministries, are often on the verge of brokeness and we need to pray for them all the more. The challenge before us is to accept the differances we all have and know that God has put in us, all thats needed to be who he needs us to be for Him.

MATTHEW 22:

21Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
