Our new coffee machine is the life of
the party and keeps up to the demands of a hard working thrashing crew.
The final touches were installed today to complete the framework of the main shop and no sooner was that all done and another blessing rolled into the ranch yard as a semi load of insulation was delivered.
Pastor Lyle and our church blessed The ranch with a photo copier that is still in great shape, and will we ever make good use of that. What a blessing, Thank you so much LGF for standing by us as we move ahead.
This afternoon we were given the
opportunity to share the ranch vision with our local Youth Outreach center and what a blessing that was.
Some good friends of us all, Mike and Darleen are moving away and so the boys and I went over and helped move their furniture into the trailer.
Sad to see them go but happy for them to be able to retire and bless another community with their gifts.
When the young profit Samuel heard the voice of God calling to him in the night, he had the counsel from his priestly mentor, Eli, to tell him how to respond. Even so it took him three times to to realize it was God. Samuel finally listened. In our modern and more understanding society we often look for no such mentor, so most often we don't understand it is God speaking to us. Frustrated by our worldly view of the Christian life, some of us silence the voice by locking it away in the attic, feeding it only the bread and water of duty and obligation until it is almost dead, the voice now small and weak. But sometimes in the night, when our defenses are down, we still hear it call to us, but oh so faintly-----a distant whisper. Come morning, the new days activities scream for our attention, the call of God is pushed aside, and we congratulate ourselves on once again overcoming the flesh.
Others of us agree to give our hearts a spiritual life on the side, if it will only leave us alone and not rock the boat with emotions like conviction. We try to loose ourselves in our work, building an impressive, financial portfolio, relationships, addictions or hobbies either of which all soon feel like addictions. We have an affair, or develop a colorful fantasy life fed by dime store romances, TV soap operas or pornography. We learn to enjoy the juicy intrigues and secrets of the gossip world. Having thus appeased our hearts, we nonetheless are forced to give up our spiritual journey because our heart will no longer come with us. It is bound up in the little garbage or waste that we feed it to keep it desensitized. And we wonder why God is not speaking to us like He should be.
Thank you once again for taking the time to view our blog. The Battle River Ranch Camp is a non profit organization that is focused on developing trades, life skills and training opportunities for men and women that are searching and find it difficult to get the opportunities needed to develop a productive life skill. Many men and women today have no idea what they could be good at or how to find out their possible skill area or level. Many would like to just try a new skill or trade. We are a faith based training center. Harold and Diane Stephan left a life filled with addictions and bad choices. Their journey has taken them through different twelve step programs and life recovery through a relationship and healing process with Jesus Christ. We would love to hear from you and if you feel this is a program and facility that would help you or someone that you know, or you would like to be more involved with a ministry like this or support it financially we would love to talk to you. Just give us a call and we will come and do a presentation that will explain the ranch plan to you. Many are saying this is so new and fresh and the need is so great. Please prayerfully consider helping us in what ever way you can. God Bless You and Your Family!!
1 John 5 : 14 & 15 NIV
"14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.!"
