Friday's Frenzy

I hate peer pressure but this time I gave in to it and went out and bought a new, "old school helmet" like our sons are now wearing. I found one for a deal I couldn't turn down. The color is a bit off but I think it'll do, what do you think guys?
We had a great meeting with Pastor Tim at the Living Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle this afternoon. He gave us the opportunity to share the vision and where the ranch was at right now.
He had lots of great ideas for us to promote the Ranch, he was so encouraging and prayed for us before we left. God is so good.

Jesus tells us that of all the laws in Scripture can be summed up in just one, "So in every thing, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
If everyone followed that one law, would we need governments to pass laws to restrain behavior? We wouldn't need to spend billions of tax dollars for; police, social programs and jails.
We wouldn't have 350 children a day being aborted. Many thru partial birth abortions so that their organs can be harvested and then the rest of the almost full term child being discarded as garbage. The government wouldn't have to be lobbied for just laws to protect children and the oppressed.
A speech given by former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee, who was also a pastor said: "Many people look to elected government to solve their problems but good self government is the key factor that would solve many of our problems. We wouldn't need to look at opening more night clubs or strip joints as we could easily see the long term damage to a society that is already so deep in a pit of mire, more of this type of adult entertainment is definitely not the right way to go.
People always want more of whatever they are involved in, be it; Drugs, pornography, alcohol, sports, money, prestige, religion, Christianity, families, self seeking, community work, God and most of us are never satisfied with whatever stage we are at, always seeking more. Many of the above are self destructive behaviors and do nothing to promote community strength or growth. But as a society that has chosen self gratification over Godly direction, we may find the next generation will follow, only far worse than we can ever imagine possible.
If we would develope self control then we would have no need of laws to restrain our behavior. Wouldn't it be great if he or she would do right even if no one was looking. He or she would make wise decisions that will not cost them or others. If we would only apply one key law that would alter culture, change history and enhance life-- do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Faulty character. on the other hand, is frighteningly costly. The individualist movement that sprung upon us in the sixties and the 'me generation' that was birthed from that ideology has spawned a greedy and selfish society. Looking out for number one, relativism and the lack of love and care for others - many times even our spouses and children fall by the way. Consider the billions of tax dollars spent to pay for countless social workers, counsellors and civil servants to administrate endless social programs, judges to rule over custody battles and property disputes, police, investigators, courts, administrators, jails... and the list goes on.
We hope the ranch will be a part of a plan to draw people back to what really counts and what we need to focus on to make difference in a society that is looking for answers and a generation of young people looking for hope.

Sorry but I need to continue this tomorrow as I'm off to wing night and a movie at the church.
God bless you all and to all a good night!
