Mondays momentum

You know those people we have in our lives, the ones you can always count on to be there for you no matter what and not just for a while. Well most of us are blessed to have people like that in our lives, friends that will help you anytime or day. A few days ago we did a interview for a local newspaper and Katie asked us about our biker background and how it affects our ranch plan and lifestyle. One of the biker details we shared with her was that no matter whether you are a Christian biker or not, the one thing that bikers are known for is that they will stand by their brothers and sisters no matter what. If a fellow biker brother and his family are struggling in any way the group will stand by and do whatever it takes to help them to get back on their feet. I read a book once about an outlaw bike club that was being infiltrated by a cop and the cop's mother passed away. Well the club loved on him and did so much to help him through his time of grieving and yet his place of employment barely gave him a card. I think the world can learn a bit from bikers. If you earn the right to be part of a group you will be respected and it does become a family. Diane and I have been very fortunate to have these kind of people around us, like our pastor warned us and our lawyer, be careful because there will be those that will find whatever they can to pull you down for whatever reason. The people that God has put into our lives to help at the ranch in getting their lives back on track are very seldom the type most people want much to do with. I may have it wrong, but aren't they the ones Jesus spent most of His time with, in fact I believe he died for those of us who were far from perfect. I remember many years ago being at a conference dealing with the problems men face with pornography. There was about 5-600 men in attendance and near the end of the speakers presentation he asked us to come forward for prayer. As always, I head up for corporate prayer and to pray with others, I know how important prayer is. The speaker made it very clear that every man has his sruggles in this area, especially if you are in leadership. What was so surprising was that only about a hundred or so of the five hundred went up for prayer. The next day at a workshop on the same topic I asked the speaker during a break, why so few men the evening before went up for prayer if this is such a problem. He told me that the men that came up are the ones that usually come forward for prayer and God blesses them for it, but he said it's usally the ones that never or very seldom come forward that are having the biggest struggles. They may also have an image and pride problem so they wouldn't want anyone to think they would be having any problems. So last evening at the evening service our pastor made it so clear the need for prayer. I went forward for prayer and I was blessed to kneel beside a fellow biker on one side of me and a good friend on the other. But again very few actually went forward and it saddened me that at this important time there wouldn't be more reverance and consideration as I could hear several leaders laughing loudly out in the foyer. I'm glad I'm really no one too important, but I do know that I must be pretty special that Jesus would die on that old rugged cross for me and I can pick up my cross every day and be a blessing to someone. How about you, will you be a blessing today? I hope so cause that's what the world needs more is love, pure love.
The Battle River Ranch Camp will be there for those that need the help, you can count on that.
