Wednesday Report

Arnie was a bit hungover after a night out with his friends. Morning seemed to come a-way to quick and he was in no hurry to get up and head out to help his one track minded brother Harold. Arnie was the youngest son of one of the largest camel and goat farm owners in this part of the country. Arnie's older brother Harold did nothing but work and it drove Arnie nuts. Arnie was very popular with his friends and always had a nice girl in his arms, whereas Harold kept more to himself and kept himself busy with the many different operations of the huge ranch. Harold was always envious of his little brother and deep inside it was eating away at him. The fact that their parents seemed to let Arnie get away with so much and yet Harold felt he was always the one picking up the slack while Arnie was busy spending their parents money on foolishness.
Arnie's mother was a very religious person and was always harping at him to go to church and that he was hanging around the wrong crowd, to make things worse Harold was Mr. goodi two shoes and made sure he made it to Sabbath and never missed, so he was the perfect son as far as his mother was concerned.
Now the father of this family was a typical father and ranch owner, and he was a very busy man. He ruled over his operation with an iron fist letting very little slide and the success of his operation proved that fact. Although, when it came to his sons he was not doing well. Harold worked hard but was as boring as it gets. Whereas Arnie took chances and challenged his brother and father to the limit, but he was always a lot of fun to be around and could make everyone laugh. There was something about Arnie that his father admired and would always turn a blind eye to his foolish ways. The day came though that Arnie had had enough and he wanted out of this life of work, work and more work. He knew there was more to life than all this and he was going to find it, enjoy it, and succeed at it. So he sat his father down and said, "Pops, I'm sorry to say this but I've had it with all of this and I'm heading out on my own. This country livings not the life for me, and I would like my inheritance and then I will be on my way. I have no intentions of ever returning to this place ever again. I have had it with all the harping about church and Harold's always on me about never doing my share of the work. That's it, give me my share of the cash and I will be out of here." Completely broken hearted and reluctant the father gathered the boy's share of the inheritance and gave it to him. Arnie loaded his customized camel and left in a trail of dust with a smile on his face, the good life on his mind and in his eyes he could see nothing but fun and good times. The Parable of the Lost son, paraphrased from, Luke 15:11 to be continued tomorrow.
PS a good friend of ours and his wife have been praying for a place to live and today they have been blessed with a home and for the price they can afford P.T.L.
