Thursday the day of change

It would take at least two weeks of hard riding to get to his uncle's ranch who was his mother's brother and lived on the way to the city of Melikarma, his chosen destination. Arnie had only met him once and that was many years ago, when he was very young. He remembered very little of the man except that he was even more religious than his mother, especially after he had lost his entire ranch in some sort of personal catastrophe. It took Arnie a few more days to remember his uncle's name but it did come to him, it wasn't a hard name to remember, but he guessed that because it was also not a common name, it took a bit of time to remember the name of his uncle, Job.
Riding alone for so many hours gave him time to plan how he would enjoy living his life from now on without all the nagging from his mother and brother. He usually could tolerate his mothers lectures about living for God and spending time each day learning about Him. But Harold, well, that was another story, Harold never spent a cent on anything that was fun or exciting, he just worked and saved every cent he had. Arnie concluded that Harold was a hoarder and he, himself was a giver. Harold's money was all he seemed to ever be worried about and it was his security.
Arnie was not making the kind of miles he had planned to make as everywhere he would stop for the evening he would meet so many people and everyone was so nice to him. He found he would spend more time and money then he had planned on.
Back home, life was continuing without Arnie. Harold was glad that Arnie was gone. Harold couldn't stand Arnie's frivolous attitude and he knew he would never be able to control the ranch operation the way he wanted to with Arnie around. So he felt it was best that he was gone and even happy to think it looked like he didn't plan to return. Arnie only made Harold's life uncomfortable and with him gone Harold could concentrate on building his empire and his power.
Arnie's Mother wept for days after he left and blamed the whole thing on her husband for not being the father that he should have been and focusing more on the profits of the ranch more than the life of their sons.
After spending a few days with his uncle Job, Arnie was ready to leave, he had heard enough about God and that he should return to his family as it was the right thing to do. Arnie knew what was right for him, and going back to that place was not the right thing to do, at least not for him.
Melikarma was dead ahead and Arnie was ready for a rest and some fun. It didn't take Arnie long to find a place to live and within days he had found the fun he was looking for, but he didn't expect the kind of trouble that followed. To be continued!!!!!

We realize that there are many families that have lost sons and daughters because they have left home, searching for a future, hope or purpose, and if you need someone to pray with or for you or for a family member that is lost please send us a note and we will pray with you.
